Hand Analysis: 7-Eight

The seven eight is a popular connecting online poker hand, known among certain circles as RPM, for the old school speed that a certain measurement of record would come in. Seven eight is one of the sweeter middle joints you can run to the table with, especially when in position, as there are lots of ways to make a hand. The added value of when it comes suited can help argue for even calling a raise with this suited beauty. It’s often worth checking out a flop.

There are many textures of flop you’ll want to find with this online poker hand. Obviously the 4 5 6 is the ultimate condition, flopping the nut straight. Coming through with the ignorant end of it, 8 9 10, is less desirable but still a hand that figures to be in the lead. Flopping a joint, via 5 6 9 or thereabouts, is also a great turnaround.

More often than flopping the straight itself, you’ll flop a draw. Seeing the 5 6 and a third card come down means you have 8 outs to make your straight, assuming your poker online opponent is ahead. It is important to note whether there is a flush or flush draw on board at the same time, as this will affect how often you end up with the nuts when you do make your hand, which is important.
